In response to the coronavirus crisis, Newton County issued a  Shelter in Place Ordinance, effective from 11:59 p.m. on March 25, 2020 until 11:59 p.m. on April 7, 2020. While this ordinance requires non-essential businesses to close their facilities, performing minimum basic operations and being closed to the public. people are traveling for business and personal reasons and should continue to follow COVID-19 travel recommendations.
