Things To Do In Covington: The 30th Annual Fuzz Run

This year marks the 30th anniversary of the city of Covington Police Department’s Annual Fuzz Run, and there is still time to sign up for this exciting thing to do in Georgia.  The run will be held Saturday, September 14, and as usual all proceeds raised go to the Police Who Care fund.  This fund helps local officers and their family members with medical expenses due to illness, families of officers killed in the line of duty throughout the state, the Shop with a Cop Christmas project for the underprivileged, and various non-profit organizations. This run began in 1984, with just about 200 runners, but the event has grown in popularity as one of the more "active" things to do in Covington, with last year’s event seeing over 2,500 runners participating.  The race will be broken into two parts to fit anyone; a one mile Fun Run and a 5K.  If you’ve participated in any past Fuzz Runs, the Police Department would love to create a collage of past races, particularly of the first race.  Any old photos can be sent to Ken.Malcom@covingtonpolice.com or dropped off at the station. So lace up your running shoes, and come join us for a day of fun while racing for a good cause at this thing to do in Covington Georgia. More information and registration can be found here, and the Police Department’s commercial can be seen here
