Golf Things to Do in Covington GA - Downtown Open

Main Street Covington and the Newton Chamber of Commerce, in conjunction with Bridgestone Golf, have joined forces to bring locals and visitors in the Covington, GA area an engaging and complimentary event in anticipation of Masters Week (April11th – 14th).

Bridgestone remains an industry leader in the manufacturing of premium golfing necessities represented by an assortment of globally recognized golfers, such as Tiger Woods, Fred Couples, Matt Kuchar, Bryson DeChambeau, Cheyenne Woods, and Lexi Thompson.

Covington’s first ever Downtown Open, taking place on April 12th from 6-9 PM, will transform the heart of the square into nine holes of miniature golf madness where families and friends alike can socialize among each other while showcasing their “carpet golf” skills. A little friendly community competition surely adds to the excitement this week brings once a year. Consider it a family date night, with one-of-a-kind dinner options sprinkling the square and a heaping handful of retail favorites full of signature hometown memorabilia and niche items you won’t find anywhere else.

Tying the experience together is the 2019 Downtown Open Contest, if putt-putt alone isn’t incentive enough to come experience the lively ambiance nestled in the center of Newton County which still manages to keep its roots closely intertwined with that small-town living vibe.

It’s not your run of the mill contest filled with rules and regulations however; it couldn’t be easier to enter. The first 100 contestants to return a completed Downtown Open scorecard will receive a dozen Bridgestone golf balls on the house and all you have to do is play (book a tee time at one of two premier golf course locations here in Covington), shop (purchase a minimum amount of $20 at one of the participating stores located on the square), and dine (partake in fantastic food choices from a restaurant listed on the scorecard). To find out more details on where to pick up your scorecard and to see what the coveted Grand Prize includes, be sure to visit the Covington Downtown Open contest page. These are activities you already planned to do that week, right? Not everyone is a professional when it comes to the game of golf, but that doesn’t mean you can’t get in on the fun.
