The 4^thof July is a day to celebrate the independence of our great country. Without the Declaration of Independence who knows what America would be today. That is why the 4th of July is a national holiday and we celebrate and display our patriotism for our great country. What better way to celebrate the 4^thof July than in the Original Hollywood of the South®.

The city of Covington Cemetery, located off of Church Street,  is one of ten cemeteries in Covington, Georgia. What’s truly intriguing about the cemetery is the way it’s divided into 5 sub-sections showing the changes in the gravestones style and architecture over time

Jason Lives, Friday the 13^th Part VI was filmed in Covington and went to the box office in August of 1986! This horror flick starred several actors who went on to play in Days of Our Lives, 21 Jump Street, Star Trek, L.A. Law, CSI, Bones, Angel and more.  

Between 1932-36 Old Church was recognized as a historical landmark, and it has gained more historic merit as the years have progressed.  In 1949, the North Georgia Conference of the Methodist Church held a formal rededication ceremony and the church was designated a Heritage Landmark by the United Methodist Church in 1972. 

Today on our tour of the Walk of Stars we will come across a film that won an Academy Award in 2001 (74^thAward Ceremony) for Short Film (live action).
